The Whole Yoga Center was founded in 2021 by Satya Larrea, C-IAYT (she, her) and Mike Kohm, PT (he, him) in the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

It was formerly known as the Whole Yoga Studio, and served the Denver yoga community for 20 years. Mike and Satya were the owners from 2004 to 2020.

Each class offering at the Whole Yoga Center serves as "an island of sanity in the sea of chaos,” a healing space for people who are rising up, in one capacity or another, to better care for themselves, the beautiful planet earth, and each other.

The space that the WYC holds, whether it be the physical space or virtual space via live stream, will be a space used to heal and grow from collective racial, gender and other traumas, but will also serve as a space where we learn together how to become "trauma resilient" in the face of the current ecological crisis.

In addition, the intention of the Whole Yoga Center will be to serve as a space for non-BIPOC to wrestle with their privilege and break it down to reach a deeper understanding of how this privilege may be used for the collective care of all inhabitants on this planet, as well as for the care of Mother Earth, home to all of us human beings.

The Whole Yoga Center will continue to offer yoga classes, Qigong classes, mindfulness classes, private yoga lessons, yoga therapy sessions and physical therapy appointments.

The Whole Yoga Center is a local place to practice being vulnerable with our feelings alongside one another as we face the changes happening due to the current ecological crisis and learn to overcome systemic oppression. Anyone who understands - or wants to understand - that grief is the path to love and who wishes to become WHOLE is welcome here.

The Whole Yoga Center is also available to rent for private use for healers and healing-related events.
